Monster's OC #1: Davin Riordan

Genres: Otherworldly Fantasy, Medieval Fantasy. Generally any sort of "high fantasy" would work. He's not suited for anything "modern."

Name: Davin Riordan
Alias: The Great Octavius
Age: Twenty-five
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 140lbs
Hair: Dirty Blonde
Eyes: Green

Davin Riordan is a twenty-five year old man with fair hair, green eyes and a wild smile. He's a man who lusts for a luxurious lifestyle, for who can go wrong with nice clothes, good food and better women at your constant disposal? Not to mention the money. Unfortunately, all Davin has ever known is to fight his way from the bottom to the top, and in his young, mortal life, he hasn't gotten very far. Besides, his love for adventure and being free makes it very hard for him to stay in the same place for very long.

Stealing, lying, cheating, conning innocent civilians out of their money, causing destruction and trying to talk his way out of it is how Dav lives his life. And he sort of loves it this way (while Dav doesn't know this just now, but I doubt he'd ever be comfortable living a life of luxury for very long, he'd just go back to lusting for freedom). He travels from town to town, inventing ridiculous schemes to extort money from civilians, and when the extortion doesn't work, he's not above resorting to good ol' fashioned thievery. Needless to say, he's almost constantly on the run. His lifestyle and heavy spending leaves him in a lot of debt, and he's also prone to having a lot of sex and leaving behind a trail of angry men and brokenhearted women. Davin gets himself into a lot of trouble.

His current scheme is to travel around under the alias of, "Octavius the Great." A mighty and powerful sorcerer with great and natural, magical skills. In reality, his "magical skills" are nothing more than mysterious(-looking) items and enchanted items that he acquires from various sources throughout his travels.

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe I should add an OC of my own to the forum collection, as well.. Anyways, I'll keep a lookout! c:

I edited in what I already had written down for him, haha. D: I have his personality and everything else down as well, but I like to keep most of that stuff vague when submitting OC biographies, because it's much more fun to leave that as a surprise. :3

I need to write bios for my few OCs.

I already have a ton of FCs. I doubt barely anyone here is a Homestuck, either. Sobs forever, the Lone Homestuck does.

I haven't roleplayed fandom since... well, before Naruto: Shippuden. Haha. :( Most of them are totally obsolete now that it's canon that all the characters are grown up. /lame

I'm pretty picky about fandoms that I roleplay, though I always did like making FCs and seeing other people's FCs. I've heard of Homestuck and I know people who like it, but I've never actually taken the time to sit down and invest time into it. I know that it's loooooooooooong.

Homestuck is long. Took me 3 days to finish up to the point where it was, and it's been a year since that.

I've tried to advert but I don't know anyone who would like to be part of a RP committee. :I No one realizes how fun it is and thinks it's weird and geeky.

Honestly? I adore Homestuck. I don't have any FCs for it, really, but the story...is amazing.

That said, thirding that an OOC board is needed.

And now something that's actually ON topic...this character made me smile. He seems like an interesting sort of chap. I'm looking forward to seeing how you play him ^-^

I want to jump in and be totally off-topic like you guys. For the record, I am not a Homestuck. I only know the basics because the majority of my friends are... sigh. The only FCs I have are for Danny Phantom and Pokemon... I did have a couple Naruto ones years ago, but I revamped their characters into something suited for a dystopian world. Aww yeeeah.

OKAY, as for Davin. Oh my God, so many of my characters would get along with him. I picture him and a couple of my characters chatting over a like... a campfire of something as they talk about their crazy adventures. It's just... said characters are not suited for the same universe so it'll never work! Sob.

B'aww. We can figure out how to make it work! I don't mind tweaking him. I feel like most people would get annoyed with Dav after a while, haha. He's very, uh... boisterous? And if there's any ladies around, he'll be all over them like a fly to sugar. And he's kind of a pathological liar. Or was it compulsive liar..? I don't know, but he lies a lot. Haha.

His personality is my favorite type to roleplay, though, so I have a lot of similar-ish characters throughout different universes.

On that note, I always forget about my Pokemon FCs being, well, FCs. Dunno why. But I have oodles of those, too. And some Kingdom Hearts FCs. /cough

Call me strange, but I actually have a lot of fun taking a character for one setting and contemplating what they would be like in a different one. Usually with a completely different name, back story changed to suit...I suppose that comes from playing a lot of tabletop games with my friends where we'll end up ditching a campaign set in the Forgotten Realms and I won't be finished with a character, so I re-roll them as a vampire for World of Darkness.

I have a few FCs for Soul Eater, but most of them I have alternate versions of for both High Fantasy style games and Urban Fantasy ones. I don't really consider them fan characters; just because they originated in that universe doesn't mean they can't be other places. -shrug-

Oh, Naruto. I haven't looked at Naruto in years. Good times, though. And hells to the yes, dystopia can be amazing if it's done right.

...oh god Pokemon. I have one for Pokemon. ...but she's really just me as a Pokemon trainer...and I've never actually tried to RP her...aside from this one time I was chatting with my friend and he was like "Bam, we're in the pokemon world, what do you do?" XD

Oh, I wouldn't worry about annoying people. Quirky, wild characters like him are very fun! Like I mentioned, I have a couple of character who have similar personalities. They are very interesting to play. Ah! I'll be willing to adapt my characters too. I have thought about putting my charas in a crazy medieval fantasy AU before. I just I prefer sticking to canon, so I didn't expand much on it. Heh. But now I have a reason to!

Ahh, yeah. I gotcha. My Pokemon FCs are just silly characters that are based on my Pokemon adventures in each game I have. This is a fairly new thing for me, so I don't have that many.

I actually remembered have some characters that would work in Dav's kind of universe, maybe we could put a RP together sometime. WE COULD HAVE FUN. not like the forum isn't getting fun already dsgfsb.

A good portion of my normal OCs take place in a post-apocalyptic future, near oceans, or in large, run-down dystopias run by the big bad though, and only have 2-3 that are within the Middle ages.

Also I have some disowned cat people. I am horrified of what I did when I was younger, oh wow. Close my casket lid I am ready to die.

Ah, but anyway, I am currently working on a list of my own characters to post later. It's basically just a bunch of summaries since I have no time nor patience to actually complete all of their bios. So be on the lookout for that~.

My "life" consists of clothes, makeup, flirting with boys and sleeping, hahaha.

I've got mostly male characters, but I've got a few girls floating around. It seems that aside from Davin and another character, the "OC" section is a bit of a taco-fest, though. That isn't really a bad thing, though. Davin likes the ladies after all. ;D

And I don't usually have the patience for bios, haha. I just had Dav's typed up already. ;A;

Actually, it's looking pretty even to me. Two females, two males. And one of those girls looks to be meant for another setting. But I have a personal rule that if I'm permitted more than one character, they're not going to be the same gender. I like to keep a ratio.

That said, there's really no fest going on if there are only four characters and there are two of each XD

I usually play multiple characters, I just have a thing for throwing in characters whenever I see fit. xD I don't usually pay attention to gender and whatnot, though. I just decide, "Hm, I want to throw in another character. TA-DAAA."

Oh gosh, all of my main characters are men, basically. I don't even know how it happened. Girlies are just harder for me to develop, I guess? That, and every time I think of a new character, I automatically picture a dude. Who knows.

Uh, I just counted up all my characters and I got 40 for men... and 23 for women. Geezus. Such a problem. My canon storyline is basically a giant yaoi with a few womans sprinkled throughout. I don't even like yaoi.
